The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies, which is set to begin on December 8. All three matches of the series will be held at Warner Park in St. Kitts.
Like the Test series, regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto will also miss the ODI series. In his absence, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will captain the Tigers’ ODI team for the first time.
Najmul Hossain Shanto is yet to recover from a groin injury, ruling him out of the squad. Towhid Hridoy is also unavailable due to a similar injury, with the BCB medical team deeming him unfit for selection.
Afif Hossain Dhrubo has been recalled to the ODI squad after nearly a year. He last played an ODI in December 2023. Zakir Hasan, who was in the squad during the Afghanistan series in the UAE, has been dropped, while pace sensation Nahid Rana retains his spot.
