Litton Das Ruled Out of PSL 2025 Due to Finger Injury, Ben McDermott Named as Replacement
Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 without playing a single match. The Karachi Kings franchise confirmed that Litton sustained a hairline fracture in multiple fingers during a practice session ahead of the team’s opening match.
The franchise has named Australia's Ben McDermott as Litton’s replacement. Additionally, Pakistan U-19 captain and wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig has been included in the squad as a partial replacement for New Zealand star Kane Williamson, who will miss the Karachi leg of the tournament.
Litton had secured a full NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and was eagerly anticipated by fans to make his PSL debut. The 30-year-old previously featured in the IPL, LPL, and CPL, but the PSL debut remains elusive due to this untimely injury. He is now set to return home for recovery, which is expected to take at least two weeks.
Karachi Kings will begin their PSL 2025 campaign tonight (April 12) at 9 PM, but the absence of Litton Das will certainly be felt by his fans, especially those from Bangladesh who were looking forward to seeing him in action.
