Litton Das Reflects on His Historic Innings Against Pakistan

In Bangladesh's first innings against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Litton Das played a pivotal role by scoring 138 out of the team's total of 262 runs. After the team had collapsed to 26 for 6, Liton's fighting innings helped recover the situation and set a competitive total on the scoreboard. His remarkable performance earned him a place on the honors board in Rawalpindi.

After the third day of the second Test, Liton Kumar Das spoke to the media as a representative of the team. During the conversation, he discussed his partnership with Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Following the dramatic collapse, Liton and Miraz formed a crucial 165-run stand. Reflecting on the partnership, Liton said:

"I enjoy batting with Mehedi. He is always positive. We constantly think about how we can score runs. Although we were on the back foot, there was still an opportunity. To get big runs, you have to seize the chances. Khurram bowled exceptionally well with the new ball."

Regarding his feelings and the conversation with Miraz after losing six wickets, Liton mentioned, "I was a bit nervous at that point. I never expected to be batting before the drinks break. I was a bit anxious because of that. When Mehedi and I were batting, we talked about how they had good momentum at that moment. We decided to take our time and see what would happen next."

After Miraz's dismissal, Taskin Ahmed was also quickly out, and Hasan Mahmud came to the crease. Hasan provided valuable support to Liton, scoring 69 runs in a 150-ball partnership. Liton praised Hasan's performance, saying:

"One thing was that when Hasan came in, I had shifted to a more defensive mindset. All the fielders were outside, so there was no opportunity to hit boundaries. Hasan deserves credit for giving me the chance to stay at the crease for a long time. We planned to keep accumulating 1-2 runs to reduce their lead. That was our approach, and it worked."

When asked if his 138-run innings against Pakistan was his best career innings, Liton replied, "Not really. I scored 141 runs against Sri Lanka, which was a similar situation. I think we achieved a good total. I was fortunate to have the opportunity, and I am quite happy with how it turned out."
