Jishan Alam: A Century in NCL, Back-to-back ducks in BPL

Jishan Alam's remarkable century in the National Cricket League (NCL) contrasts sharply with his struggles in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In the opening match of NCL T20, Jishan hit 10 sixes and scored a brilliant century, making a significant impact on the tournament. However, in the BPL, he has failed to make an impression, getting out for ducks in both of his appearances for Durbar Rajshahi.

In the NCL, the 20-year-old has been in explosive form, and in the very first match, he stunned everyone with his aggressive batting. Jishan finished as the second-highest run scorer of the tournament, hitting a total of 22 sixes. But his BPL debut has been far from memorable. In two matches for Durbar Rajshahi, Jishan has faced two consecutive ducks.

In the opening match of the current BPL, Jishan was dismissed for a duck against defending champions Fortune Barishal after facing just two balls. His stumps were shattered by a delivery from Kyle Mayers. After a two-day break, in the second match against Dhaka Capitals, Jishan was out for another duck, this time after facing 8 balls.

In the NCL T20, Jishan had an unforgettable performance, scoring a quick century in the opening match. Opening the batting for Sylhet Division, the right-handed batter slammed 10 sixes, bringing up his century in just 52 balls. In total, Jishan hit 22 sixes in the tournament, finishing with 281 runs at a strike rate of 158.75 in seven matches. His batting average was an impressive 40.14, making his NCL performance a stark contrast to his struggles in the BPL.
