ICC Men’s Player of the Month nominees for October 2024 revealed
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the shortlist for October's ICC Player of the Month award. Players who delivered outstanding performances in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup held in the UAE and the ongoing ICC World Test Championship have been shortlisted for this month's award.
The three nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award are Noman Ali, Kagiso Rabada, and Mitchell Santner. Among the women, the nominees are Amelia Kerr, Deandra Dottin, and Laura Wolvaardt.
Noman Ali (Pakistan)
In two Tests against England in Multan and Rawalpindi, he took 20 wickets at an average of 13.85, earning his place in the shortlist for the first time. His performance was crucial in Pakistan's series victory.
Kagiso Rabada (South Africa)
In the first Test against Bangladesh, Rabada took 9 wickets for 72 runs. He reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings and claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the Chattogram Test.
Mitchell Santner (New Zealand)
He made a significant contribution to New Zealand’s historic series win against India. In Bengaluru, he recorded his best Test figures, taking seven wickets for 53 runs in the first innings and six wickets for 104 runs in the second innings.
Amelia Kerr (New Zealand)
In the Women’s T20 World Cup, she scored 135 runs and took 15 wickets, earning the Player of the Tournament title. She excelled against Australia and Sri Lanka, and in the World Cup final, she scored 43 runs and took 3 wickets for 24 runs in her 4 overs.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa)
With 223 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup, she topped the tournament’s run-scoring charts with an average of 44.60. She made a crucial 33 runs in the final against New Zealand.
Deandra Dottin (West Indies)
The West Indies all-rounder stood out with both bat and ball in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE, performing well against Bangladesh and Scotland. In the semifinal against New Zealand, she scored 33 runs and took four wickets.
