ICC Finalizes Match Officials for Champions Trophy Final Between India and New Zealand

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the list of match officials for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand, which will take place in Dubai this Sunday. The on-field umpires for the high-voltage match will be Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth.

Both umpires are part of the ICC’s Emirates Elite Panel and have already officiated in the semi-final matches. Illingworth was in charge of the India-Australia semi-final, where India won by four wickets. Reiffel officiated in the New Zealand-South Africa semi-final, where the Black Caps emerged victorious by 50 runs.

Illingworth, a four-time ICC Umpire of the Year, has previously officiated in the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup final and the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup final. He was also the on-field umpire for the India-New Zealand group stage match in the Champions Trophy, where India won by 44 runs.

Official Panel for the Final:

  • On-Field Umpires: Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth
  • Third Umpire: Joel Wilson
  • Fourth Umpire: Kumar Dharmasena
  • Match Referee: Ranjan Madugalle

Joel Wilson, who served as the third umpire in the 2023 Men's ODI World Cup final, will again take on that role in the Champions Trophy final. Ranjan Madugalle, one of the most experienced members of the ICC Elite Panel, will be the match referee for the game.
