ICC Champions Trophy to Visit Bangladesh for Four Days
The ICC Champions Trophy tour officially began today, November 16, in Islamabad, Pakistan. The prestigious trophy will travel through various cities in Pakistan from November 16 to 25, before making its way to Afghanistan for three days. Afterward, it will arrive in Bangladesh, where fans will get a chance to see the Champions Trophy up close from December 10 to 13.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan in February–March 2025. However, the tournament's schedule has not yet been released due to India’s decision not to send its team to Pakistan. There have also been questions raised regarding whether the tournament will actually be held in Pakistan. Despite these uncertainties, the Champions Trophy tour has already begun, with the first stop being Islamabad.
The coveted Champions Trophy will travel across eight countries over the course of 70 days, offering fans a unique and exciting experience. According to an official statement from the ICC, the trophy will visit Bangladesh from December 10 to 13. It will make stops in Dhaka and other cities, before departing the country on December 13.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to begin on January 27. However, recent reports suggest that the tournament might be held in a hybrid model, with matches involving India being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and both the semifinals and final potentially taking place outside of Pakistan.
The top eight teams from the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup have earned automatic qualification for the Champions Trophy. Based on the proposed schedule, Pakistan will be placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B will consist of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
