The recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2025 saw remarkable performances from several cricketers, leading to significant shifts in the ICC Player Rankings. Among the notable improvements were Indian captain Rohit Sharma and New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra.

Rohit Sharma, who scored 76 runs off 83 balls in the final against New Zealand, played a pivotal role in chasing down the 252-run target. As a result, he moved up two spots in the ICC Men's Batting Rankings, reaching third place. This achievement further solidified his standing as one of the world's top batsmen.

Rachin Ravindra, after an impressive semifinal against South Africa and a courageous performance in the final against India, made a massive jump in the rankings. He moved up 14 places, reaching his career-best 14th position in the ICC Men's Batting Rankings. Ravindra was awarded the Player of the Tournament after scoring 263 runs and taking 3 wickets during the tournament.

In addition to his batting performance, Ravindra’s rise was mirrored in other rankings. He moved up 22 spots to 98th in the Bowler Rankings and gained 8 spots to reach 8th position in the All-Rounder Rankings.

Other Notable Rankings Improvements:

  • Rassie van der Dussen of South Africa, who scored 69 runs in the semifinal, rose to 13th place in the Batting Rankings.
  • Glen Phillips moved up to 24th, David Miller to 26th, Kane Williamson to 27th, and Temba Bavuma to 32nd.

In the Bowler Rankings, New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner made a significant climb, moving up six places to reach his career-best second spot. India’s Kuldeep Yadav moved up three spots to third after taking two wickets in the final. Ravindra Jadeja also re-entered the top 10. Other bowlers to make improvements included Michael Bracewell (18th), Lungi Ngidi (33rd), Axar Patel (38th), and Barun Chakraborty (80th).

In the All-Rounder Rankings, Mitchell Santner moved up to 4th place, while Michael Bracewell, after his match-winning 53 runs off 40 balls in the final, reached 7th place.

The rankings updates reflect the outstanding contributions from players across all teams during the tournament, highlighting both individual brilliance and team efforts.
