Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Ad-hoc Committee member Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed has taken an initiative to attract investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the development of Bangladesh’s cricket infrastructure. As part of this effort, he held a meeting today with UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Ali Abdullah AlHamoudi at the UAE Embassy in Dhaka.
The meeting focused on cricket cooperation between Bangladesh and the UAE, infrastructure development, and potential investment opportunities. Particular emphasis was placed on the UAE government’s interest in contributing to the advancement of cricket in Bangladesh.
Discussions were held regarding the possibility of constructing international-standard cricket stadiums, developing modern turf facilities, building indoor training infrastructure, and establishing a biomechanical center. The two sides also emphasized sports science and technology-driven support aimed at improving players’ performance.
Beyond cricket, the UAE also expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh’s solar energy and aviation sectors.
Speaking after the meeting, Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed said, “International collaboration and modern infrastructure development are extremely important if we want to take Bangladesh cricket to a world-class level. A partnership with a country like the UAE could create a major opportunity for the future of cricket in Bangladesh.”
He further added that he is working on long-term plans to ensure international-standard training facilities for young cricketers and modernize the country’s cricket structure. “The UAE has developed itself not only in cricket but also as a global sports hub. Their infrastructure is highly advanced, and we will try to work together with them on infrastructural development,” he said.
During the meeting, the UAE Ambassador also congratulated the Bangladesh national cricket team on their recent successes.
