Pakistan played a T20I series of 3 matches on Ireland's soil. They won the series 2-1, securing victory under the leadership of Babar Azam. During this series, Ireland hinted at their tour to Pakistan.
Cricket Ireland has confirmed that they will tour Pakistan in 2025, it will be their first time. The exact schedule of the tour has not been announced yet. However, in a statement released on Monday, Cricket Ireland informed that they will tour Pakistan next year, possibly in August or September.
The decision was made primarily after discussions between Cricket Ireland Chairman Brian MacNeice and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the conclusion of the bilateral meeting. Brian MacNeice expressed satisfaction with the discussions.
He said, "We are delighted to welcome the PCB Chairman to Ireland. We had fruitful discussions. The visit of the PCB Chairman to Ireland has strengthened the relationship between the two boards."
"Our discussions covered various aspects, including the issue of tours for both men's and women's teams. I am very pleased that we have reached a consensus on the tour of the men's team. This marks another historic tour for us. Before this, the women's team toured Pakistan for the first time in 2022."
