Since earning Test status in 2000, Bangladesh has played 155 Test matches (including the ongoing Bangladesh–Ireland match). In that span, the Tigers have recorded 23 wins, 19 draws, and 112 defeats. Over these 25 years, a total of 108 players have made their Test debut for Bangladesh.
The latest addition to that list is Hasan Murad, who became Bangladesh’s 108th Test cricketer on November 11, 2025, making his debut against Ireland at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Before his Test debut, the 24-year-old left-arm spinner had already represented Bangladesh in two T20 Internationals. Hasan’s red-ball domestic career, however, has been quite impressive. In 39 first-class matches, he has taken 165 wickets, including 14 five-wicket hauls.
Murad earned his Test call-up after a strong showing in the National Cricket League (NCL), where he claimed 11 wickets in his last two matches for Chattogram Division.
Born in July 2001 in Cox’s Bazar, Hasan Murad climbed through every stage of Bangladesh’s cricketing structure. A product of the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), he has been a consistent performer in the age-level teams. Alongside domestic cricket, he has also made his mark in franchise T20 leagues as a reliable wicket-taker.
In List A cricket, Murad has taken 94 wickets in 65 matches, while in recognized T20s, he has 40 wickets in 37 games — showcasing his versatility across formats.
