Harry Brook to captain England for Australia ODIs with Jos Buttler ruled out
Due to the injury of regular captain Jos Buttler, Harry Brook will captain England in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Brook was the captain of England in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup and recently took on the role of deputy to Ollie Pope during the Test series against Sri Lanka. All-rounder Liam Livingstone has been added to the squad.
Jos Buttler will also miss the upcoming five-match ODI series against Australia due to a right calf injury. Harry Brook will be leading England for the first time. Following his impressive performances in the first two T20Is, Liam Livingstone has been called up for the 50-over format.
Meanwhile, left-arm pace bowler Josh Hall has been ruled out of the squad due to a quad injury. Hall, who recently made his debut for England in the third Test against Sri Lanka, has been sidelined before he could make his mark in limited-overs cricket.
The ODI series between England and Australia will begin on September 19 at Trent Bridge.
England Squad: Harry Brook (Captain), Jofra Archer, Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Jamie Smith, Ollie Stone, Reece Topley, John Turner.
