Fortune Barishal Ready for 2025 BPL with Strong Squad and Exciting Fixtures

The 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is just around the corner, with only one day remaining before the opening match. On December 30, defending champions Fortune Barishal will take the field for the inaugural game of the season, facing the new team Durbar Rajshahi. The match will be played in the afternoon, and Barishal's squad, consisting of 28 players, includes both local and international talent.

The BPL will begin on December 30 and conclude on February 7. In the opening phase in Dhaka, Barishal will play two matches before traveling to Sylhet for three more games. After the Sylhet phase, there will be a six-day break for the team. Barishal will then move to Chattogram, where they will play three matches at the Sagarika Stadium, before returning to Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium for the final four league matches.

Once again, cricketing stars Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah Riyad will represent Fortune Barishal in this season. This time, they will be joined by Bangladesh's three-format captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto. The team has also added star leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who will be supported in the spin department by experienced bowlers Taijul Islam, Tanveer Islam, and Naim Hassan.

In pace bowling, Barishal will rely on the services of Pakistan's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and local fast-bowler Ebadot Hossain. The team also features pacers Ripon Mondol and Shahidul Islam. Young middle-order batter Ariful Islam will also make an impact in this season under Tamim's leadership.

In terms of international talent, Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan), Kyle Mayers (West Indies), David Miller (South Africa), Fahim Ashraf (Pakistan), James Fuller (England), Pathum Nissanka (Sri Lanka), and Nandre Burger (South Africa) will be part of Barishal's foreign contingent. Additionally, Pakistan's pacers Mohammad Ali and Khan Jahandad have also been included in the squad.
