Foreign cricketers have found themselves in a major crisis after coming to play for Durbar Rajshahi in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Players like Ryan Burl, Miguel Cummins, and Aftab Alam, who signed contracts with the franchise, are not receiving their payments. As a result, they are unable to return to their home countries. While Rajshahi's BPL campaign has ended, these foreign players are still stuck at the team hotel, unable to leave.

The issue of player payments in the BPL is still a hot topic, with Durbar Rajshahi at the center of the controversy. Despite repeated promises, the franchise has failed to pay the players according to the agreed terms. The cheques issued by the franchise have bounced twice. In one instance, the foreign players refused to play in a match due to not receiving their payments.

The five foreign cricketers from Rajshahi — Zimbabwe's all-rounder Ryan Burl, Pakistan's batter Mohammad Haris, Afghanistan's Aftab Alam, West Indies' Mark Deial, and Miguel Cummins — are unable to return to their home countries because they haven't received the money owed to them by the franchise.

As of now, they are still staying at the team hotel. Durbar Rajshahi had been waiting until yesterday to see the defeat of Khulna Tigers by Dhaka Capitals, hoping that the result would help them advance. However, the situation turned out differently — Rajshahi's exit from the BPL was confirmed after Dhaka’s loss.

Yesterday, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, an advisor to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, arrived at the BCB office and stated that after speaking with Rajshahi’s owner, the next step would involve legal action if the payments are not made. He met with Shafik Rahman, the owner of Rajshahi, to discuss the issue while attending a match at Mirpur.
