The final of the 2025 ICC World Test Championship will be held from June 11-15 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, featuring the top two teams from the points table. This was confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
This ultimate Test match will mark the conclusion of two years of intense competition in the ICC World Test Championship. To determine the finalists, 27 series and 69 Test matches will be played. According to the current points table, India is leading, with Australia in second place, New Zealand in third, and Bangladesh in fourth. England, Sri Lanka, and South Africa follow.
The 2025 edition of the ICC World Test Championship will see the crowning of a third champion. New Zealand won the inaugural championship in 2021, and Australia secured the title in 2023.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said, "The ICC World Test Championship final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events on the cricket calendar. We are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition. It is a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world."
Pat Cummins, the captain of the 2023 ICC World Test Championship-winning team, stated, "Winning the World Test Championship was a major goal for the Australian team, and it remains so. It is the ultimate result of hard work and consistency over a two-year cycle for all teams."
MCC Chief Executive and Secretary Guy Lavender said, "We are delighted to be working with the ICC to host the World Test Championship final for the first time."
