Countdown Begins for Women’s IPL 2025 Mini Auction
The mega auction of the IPL has concluded, and now the countdown has begun for the Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL) 2025 mini-auction. The auction will take place on December 15 in Bangalore, with each of the five franchises having a total budget of ₹15 crore (Indian Rupees).
The mini-auction for this year's WIPL will be held in Bangalore, where franchises will purchase and sell players to build their squads. The total budget for each franchise has been set at ₹15 crore, which is an increase from last year's budget of ₹13.5 crore—an additional ₹1.5 crore has been added to each team’s allocation this time.
The five franchises have already announced the list of players they have retained, with a total of 71 players, including 25 foreign players. Now, it’s time for the franchises to complete their squads. Each franchise can spend up to ₹15 crore to finalize their team.
Notable international players who will participate in the mini-auction include England’s captain Heather Knight, New Zealand’s fast bowler Lea Tahuhu, and West Indies’ all-rounder Deandra Dottin. Among Indian stars, all-rounder Sneh Rana, leg-spinner Poonam Yadav, and aggressive batter Veda Krishnamurthy are expected to be in high demand.
The 2025 WIPL promises to bring exciting talent into the spotlight, and the mini-auction is expected to be an action-packed event for teams and fans alike
