The 2024 Women's T20 World Cup has been relocated from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has now announced the ticket prices for the tournament, with the minimum price set at just five dirhams. Additionally, entry will be free for individuals under 18 years of age.
This will be the first time the Women’s T20 World Cup is held in the UAE, though Bangladesh will still be the official host. Matches will be played across two venues in Dubai and Sharjah. ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice praised the UAE’s diverse representation and the affordable ticket prices, saying:
"The UAE’s diversity is a positive aspect as it represents people from around the world. This means it will serve as a home World Cup for the 10 teams. I am delighted to announce that tickets will start from just five dirhams, and those under 18 will have free entry."
Allardice also thanked the ECB for organizing the tournament on short notice, stating, "I would like to thank the ECB and our friends at the Dubai Sports Council, as well as the teams at the Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium, for their extraordinary efforts."
ECB Board member Zayed Abbas expressed eagerness to work closely with the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the World Cup organization. "The Emirates Cricket Board is excited to host the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE. With our rich experience and history of hosting top-level cricket, we are ready to organize another world-class tournament."
The Women's T20 World Cup will feature 10 teams and take place from October 3 to October 20, spanning 18 days.
