India kicked off their Asia Cup campaign in style, thrashing the United Arab Emirates by 9 wickets in Abu Dhabi. The star of the match was left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who produced a sensational spell, taking 4 wickets for just 7 runs.
His figures are now the second-best bowling performance in Asia Cup T20 history, surpassing Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan’s 4 for 8 against Hong Kong in 2022. The top spot still belongs to India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who claimed a record-breaking 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in the same year.
Batting first after winning the toss, UAE collapsed to just 57 runs in 13.1 overs under relentless Indian bowling pressure. In reply, Rohit Sharma’s men chased down the target in only 4.3 overs, losing just one wicket on their way to a comfortable victory.
