Big Blow for Australia Ahead of India Series
The Australian cricket team has faced a significant blow ahead of the India series. Aussie all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of the England tour due to injury. As a result, his participation in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India has become uncertain.
Australia is set to play a five-match Test series against India, starting on November 22. Regarding Green's injury, Cricket Australia stated that nothing can be confirmed until Green arrives in Perth. However, there are still nearly two months left before the Test series between India and Australia begins.
After the third ODI against England, Green reported feeling pain. In that match, he scored 45 runs with the bat and took 2 wickets for 45 runs with the ball. Initial scans revealed a back injury, which forced him to return home before the crucial series against India.
This makes Green the fifth Australian player to be injured during the England tour. Cameron Green was rested for the second ODI against England. In this series, Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Riley Meredith, and Ben Dwarshuis have also suffered injuries.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy holds special significance for Green, as he made his debut in this very series against India.
