England have announced four changes to their playing XI ahead of the fifth and final Test of the series against India at The Kia Oval. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the changes via a press release.
Captain Ben Stokes will miss the match due to a right shoulder injury. Spinner Liam Dawson and pacers Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse have also been left out.
Jacob Bethell has been called up and will bat at No. 6. England have also brought in frontline pacers Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton, along with Nottinghamshire fast bowler Josh Tongue.
England XI for the fifth Test vs India:
Zak Crawley
Ben Duckett
Ollie Pope (captain)
Joe Root
Harry Brook
Jacob Bethell
Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper)
Chris Woakes
Gus Atkinson
Jamie Overton
Josh Tongue
The final Test begins Thursday at The Kia Oval, with the hosts leading the series 2-1. A draw would be enough for England to retain the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
