Bangladesh Ends Day 2, Trailing by 421 Runs
In response to Pakistan's first-innings total of 448 runs, Bangladesh finished Day 2 of the Rawalpindi Test at 27 without loss. Bangladesh's openers, Shadman Islam and Jaker Hassan, batted through the 12 overs of the third session without losing a wicket. Shadman remains unbeaten on 12 runs from 30 balls, while Jaker is holding firm with 11 runs off 42 balls. Bangladesh is still trailing by 421 runs compared to Pakistan's first-innings total.
Pakistan declared their first innings at a massive 448 runs for 6 wickets. Resuming Day 2 at 158 for 4, Pakistan's Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan both scored centuries. Shakeel was eventually dismissed for 141 by Mehidy Hasan Miraz after a 240-run partnership with Rizwan.
Bangladesh's bowlers struggled in the first session of the second day, failing to take any wickets. Pakistan, starting the second session at 256 for 4, pushed their score to 367 before the tea break.
Pakistan began the third session at 367 for 5, with Mohammad Rizwan standing strong. The Tiger bowlers couldn't dislodge Rizwan, who remained unbeaten on 171 runs from 239 balls. Agha Salman was the only casualty in the session, falling to Shakib Al Hasan for 19 runs off 36 balls. Shaheen Shah Afridi added a quick 29 not out from 24 balls.
For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud each took 2 wickets, while Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed one wicket apiece.
