Bangladesh Announce Squad for Womens T20 World Cup
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team has finalized its squad ahead of the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in England. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad for the global tournament, while the team’s preparation camp is set to begin on May 12.
The Bangladesh women’s national cricket team, led by Nigar Sultana Joty, is set to compete in a tri-series in Scotland as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. The squad is scheduled to depart for Edinburgh on May 25.
The tri-series will feature hosts Scotland and the Netherlands. Interestingly, the Tigresses will face the Netherlands in their opening match of the World Cup on June 14. This series is expected to provide crucial match practice for Nigar and Nahida’s side before they begin their global campaign.
There has been one change from the squad that played the recent series against Sri Lanka. Sharmin Sultana has been left out, while Taj Nehar has earned a place in the World Cup squad.
Bangladesh have been placed in a challenging Group A for this year’s tournament, alongside Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and the Netherlands.
