Bangladesh and Afghanistan Set to Play T20 Series in October 2025
Afghanistan is looking to host Bangladesh for a T20 series in October 2025. The boards of both countries have started discussions, and the series is expected to serve as preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka. The series is likely to consist of three T20 matches.
After several postponements, Afghanistan is now attempting to host Bangladesh for a T20 series in October 2025. The series is expected to take place at the beginning of October.
Previously, Bangladesh was scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20s against Afghanistan in July 2024, but the tour was postponed at the request of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) due to workload management concerns.
Following this, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) proposed a white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and three T20s in Greater Noida in July-August. However, BCB felt that the weather conditions in that region would not be suitable for an international series, and thus, the proposal was not implemented.
In preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy, Bangladesh and Afghanistan played a three-match ODI series in the United Arab Emirates in November. Both boards are also interested in organizing a two-match Test series at a convenient time.
