Babar Azam led Pakistan to series win over Ireland
Pakistan surged ahead of Ireland in terms of strength. However, their on-field performance wasn't as impressive in the first T20I. Welcoming Ireland with a victory in the series' first match, Pakistan, under the leadership of Babar Azam, quickly found their winning stride. Ensuring victory in the next two matches, Pakistan secured the series.
Although Ireland won the first T20I on their home ground, in the second match, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan's batting resilience brought Pakistan back on equal terms under Babar Azam's captaincy. In the decisive match of the series, played yesterday in Dublin, Rizwan once again shined, this time partnering with captain Babar Azam. Their partnership secured 2-1 series victory for Pakistan.
Winning the toss in the third T20I, Pakistan captain Babar Azam chose to bowl. Ireland managed to score 178 runs in the designated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets.
Lorcan Tucker scored a stormy fifty, hitting personal half-centuries in two consecutive matches. Today, he scored 73 runs off 41 balls with the help of 13 fours and 1 six. With just 14 runs and 3 wickets in 4 overs, Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi made a significant contribution to his team's bowling.
Responding to Ireland's bat, Pakistan managed to score 181 runs, losing 4 wickets in 17 overs. Captain Babar Azam led the innings with 75 runs off 42 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes. Rizwan also played a crucial role, scoring 56 runs off 38 balls.
Today, Shaheen Shah Afridi, representing Pakistan, delivered an outstanding bowling performance and secured the Player of the Match award.
