The South Africa women's cricket team has reached the final after defeating Australia in the semifinals of the Women's T20 World Cup. The Proteas overcame the six-time champions Australia by 8 wickets.

This victory marks South Africa's first win against Australia in any format of the women's World Cup. Additionally, the Australian women have won the title 6 times in the 8 editions of this tournament.

At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, South Africa won the toss and chose to field first. Australia lost their first wicket for just 7 runs. Grace Harris was out for 3 runs, followed by Georgia Wareham for just 5 runs.

Beth Mooney and captain Tahlia McGrath formed a crucial third-wicket partnership, adding 50 runs. Tahlia was out for 27 runs off 33 balls, while Beth Mooney scored 44 runs off 42 balls. In the end, Australia managed to score 135 runs, losing 5 wickets, thanks to late contributions from Ellyse Perry (31 runs off 23 balls) and Annabel Sutherland (16 runs off 9 balls).

With the ball, South African spinner Kaka took 2 wickets for 24 runs in her 4 overs, while Marizanne Kapp and Mlaba each took 1 wicket.
