Asif Mahmud Inaugurates Champions Trophy Tour in Bangladesh
The ICC Men's Champions Trophy has arrived in Bangladesh, marking the beginning of its Bangladesh tour. After arriving in Dhaka last night, the trophy is now on its way to Cox's Bazar on December 10. The opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy tour in Bangladesh was inaugurated by Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh leg of the Champions Trophy tour will give fans a chance to see the prestigious trophy up close on December 11 and 12. The tour will conclude on December 13 at the Mirpur Home of Cricket, with players and officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) present for the closing ceremony.
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, in an event at his official residence on December 10, launched the Bangladesh leg of the Champions Trophy tour. He shared a picture with the trophy on his personal Facebook account, stating: "For the first time since 2017, the ICC Men's Champions Trophy is back in the international cricket calendar. This year, Pakistan is the host country for the Champions Trophy. As per tradition, before the tournament begins, the trophy will tour ICC member countries. After visiting Pakistan and Afghanistan, the trophy has now arrived in Bangladesh. On Tuesday, December 10, the Champions Trophy’s official tour in Bangladesh was inaugurated at the residence of the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan."
Tour Details in Bangladesh:
- December 10: The trophy travels to Cox's Bazar.
- December 11: The first public viewing of the trophy will be at Laboni Point Beach, Cox's Bazar (in front of the Urmi Conference Center) from 10 AM to 3 PM.
- December 12: The trophy will be on display at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Dhaka from 11 AM to 8 PM.
- December 13: The final display will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, where it will be open from 11 AM to 3 PM for national male and female cricket players, former and current cricketers, cricket organizers, and media personnel.
The Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in Pakistan between February and March next year, has been on a 70-day global tour since November 16, starting in Islamabad. The trophy will visit eight countries, offering an exciting experience for cricket fans worldwide.
