Anshul Kamboj's Perfect 10: Third in Ranji Trophy History
Haryana's 23-year-old bowler Anshul Kamboj has etched his name into Ranji Trophy history by becoming the third bowler to take all 10 wickets in an innings. He achieved this remarkable feat against Kerala in a Ranji Trophy match at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium.
Before Anshul, only two other bowlers had accomplished this in Ranji Trophy history. Bengal's Premangsu Chatterjee took 10/20 against Assam in January 1957, becoming the first to do so, followed by Rajasthan's Pradeep Sunderam, who claimed 10/78 against Vidarbha in 1985.
In the historic innings, Anshul bowled 30.1 overs, conceding just 49 runs while taking all 10 wickets, restricting Kerala to 291 runs on the third day. Across his career, Anshul has played 19 matches, capturing 57 wickets at an average of 24.14. Apart from his bowling, he has also contributed 358 runs with the bat in first-class cricket.
Anshul's rapid rise in domestic cricket has been remarkable. He recently represented India 'A' in the Emerging Asia Cup, where he took four wickets in three matches. His standout performance came against Pakistan Shaheens, where he picked up 3 wickets for 33 runs, earning the Player of the Match award.
In the Duleep Trophy, Anshul shone for India 'C', taking 16 wickets and finishing as the tournament's highest wicket-taker. He made his IPL debut for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in 2024, taking 2 wickets in 3 matches.
