Alis Al Islam Passes Bowling Action Test and Prepares for Return to BPL
Mystery spinner Aliss Al Islam, known for his economical bowling and early breakthroughs, has successfully passed the bowling action test after facing issues in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The spinner, who had been under scrutiny for his action, underwent the test on Saturday at the Home of Cricket, Mirpur, and received a positive result, clearing him to continue playing in the tournament.
Alis faced difficulties with his bowling action during the January 19th match between Barishal and Chattogram. The umpires deemed his action to be suspect, and the Chattogram Kings, despite not officially making a statement, were aware of the issue. National team selector Hannan Sarkar had also raised concerns about the legality of his bowling action before the match. The head of the BPL Technical Committee, Rokibul Hasan, later confirmed the news.
This isn't the first time Alis' action has come under scrutiny. During the 2019 BPL, in his debut match for Dhaka Dynamites, his bowling action was questioned, leading him to face another test.
After passing the test, Alis is now eligible to continue playing in the ongoing BPL season. He has been in impressive form, taking 12 wickets in 8 matches so far. Alis is now ready to make his return to Chattogram Kings’ playing XI as they look to continue their campaign in the tournament.
