A wicketless session for Bangladesh vs South Africa in Chattogram
South Africa showcased dominance by finishing the first two sessions of the Chattogram Test strongly. Although Bangladesh bowlers managed to take a wicket in the first session, the rest of the time before the tea break was filled with disappointment. Opener Tony de Zorzi, who survived a catch dropped by Mahidul Islam Ankon in the morning, scored his first Test century. Following Markram's dismissal, Tristan Stubbs, who came in at number three, also struck a fifty and is racing towards his first Test hundred.
Despite losing their first wicket at 69 runs, South Africa played smoothly throughout the second session. The Bangladesh bowlers were unable to put any of the Proteas batters in trouble. However, where opportunities arose behind the wickets, debutant wicketkeeper Mahidul Islam Ankon failed to capitalize.
South Africa went into the tea break at 205 runs for 1 wicket, scoring at a rate of 3.66 runs per over. Tony de Zorzi, who was given a new lease on life at just 6 runs, is now batting at 101 after reaching his century. He is accompanied by Tristan Stubbs, who has scored 65 runs.
In the 55th over of the innings, Tony de Zorzi reached his maiden Test century with a boundary off Mehedi Hasan Miraz. He took 146 balls to reach the milestone, hitting 8 boundaries and 2 sixes.
