Stuart Law Becomes Head Coach of USA, First Assignment Bangladesh Series

The United States of America (USA) is set to co host the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Prior to the T20 World Cup on home soil, the United States of America cricket team will play a T20I series consisting of 3 matches against Bangladesh. Ahead of this series, they have appointed former Australian cricketer Stuart Law as their head coach.

An official statement from the USA Cricket confirms the appointment of Stuart Law as the head coach. Stuart Law, who has had a rich coaching career post his playing days, previously served as an assistant coach for Sri Lanka in 2009. He also worked as the head coach of the Bangladesh team in 2011-12.

 

In 2017-18, he was the head coach of the West Indies team. In 2022, he served as the interim head coach for the Afghanistan team. Towards the end of 2022, he was associated with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as the head coach of the Bangladesh Under-19 team. Additionally, he was with the English county team Middlesex from 2019-21.

Stuart Law expressed his excitement upon being appointed as the head coach of the United States of America, stating that he sees a bright future for the USA among fellow cricketing nations. Coaching against Bangladesh will be his first task, following which his focus will shift to the T20 World Cup.

It's worth mentioning that Stuart Law started his cricketing career playing for Australia in 1994. He was part of the Australian team that won the 1996 World Cup. In 1998, he was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year.
