BCB Releases Investigation Report on Jahanara Alams Allegations
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received the report of the independent inquiry committee formed to investigate allegations raised by former Bangladesh Women’s Team captain Jahanara Alam. The BCB has released the report today.
According to the report, out of the four allegations made by Jahanara, two were not substantiated. However, preliminary evidence was found regarding the remaining two allegations against the former Women’s Team selector and manager, Md Monjurul Islam.
The committee noted that his conduct was inconsistent with professional standards, and some actions fell under misconduct and harassment. It is noteworthy that his contract with the BCB ended on 30 June 2025.
Following the report, the BCB immediately engaged its legal team to take appropriate action in line with its zero-tolerance policy. The Board has also reaffirmed its strong commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for women cricketers. To this end, the Board has established a Complaint Committee, chaired by BCB Director and Women’s Wing Committee Chairperson Rubaba Dowla. The committee will work to develop an independent complaint mechanism and implement awareness and training programs for all cricketers and staff.
