Virat Kohli wants to stay ahead from the very beginning in the mission to defend the IPL title. During Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) first training session, he delivered a strong message to his teammates to give their maximum effort.

Speaking to the squad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Kohli said that last year’s success was the result of hard work over the past two to three seasons. However, he warned that the challenge will be tougher this time, as other teams will come back stronger. Therefore, the team must stay ahead from the start and give 120 percent.

Meanwhile, head coach Andy Flower also expressed confidence, stating that RCB’s squad has become stronger after the auction. He described the process of integrating new players into the team alongside established stars under the leadership of Kohli and Rajat Patidar as an exciting journey.

Flower added that last season’s success is now in the past, and a new challenge awaits in the new season. The team is determined to take the field with the aim of defending their title.

RCB will begin their title defence on March 28 at their home ground, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Flower sees the home start as a big opportunity, hoping the team can build early momentum with the support of their fans.
