In the second Test against the touring Bangladesh team in Rawalpindi, Pakistan failed to last a full day in their first innings. Thanks to a combined effort from spin and pace bowlers, Pakistan lost five wickets before lunch and was ultimately dismissed for 274 runs by the end of the day.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, taking five wickets for 22.1 overs. This marks Miraz's 10th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Following their dismissal, Bangladesh ended the day’s play at 10 without loss, with no wickets down.
At one stage, Pakistan was comfortably placed at 107 for the loss of one wicket. However, a collapse ensued, leading to their innings being wrapped up at 274 runs. Bangladesh’s openers then played out the remaining two overs of the day without losing any wickets.
Miraz, a key off-spinner for Bangladesh alongside Shakib Al Hasan, was exceptional in this match. His five-wicket haul came from a total of 22.1 overs, making it his 10th in Test cricket.
