For the first time, Bangladesh secured a 3-0 T20I series victory against the West Indies, completing a clean sweep. Sheikh Mahedi Hasan emerged as one of the key players in the series win and was named Player of the Series.

Across the three matches, Mahedi bowled 11 overs, conceding just 46 runs with an impressive economy rate of 4.18. He picked up 8 wickets, delivering figures of 4/13, 2/20, and 2/13 across the games. With the bat, though he was run out without facing a ball in the final match, he scored 26* and 11 in the other two games.

In the T20 World Cup at St. Vincent, Mahedi wasn’t a regular in the squad. However, in this series, he showcased his dominance. Speaking after receiving the Player of the Series award, Mahedi explained how competition for spots kept him out of the World Cup squad.

Mahedi said, "During the World Cup, we had many alternatives, so I didn’t play. My experience in global T20 leagues helped me in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed bowling on these kinds of wickets. Before the series, we had planned to bowl wicket-to-wicket."

He added, "I have played with Nicholas Pooran in the BPL and other leagues, so I know he’s a tough batter, especially against right-arm off-spinners. But we had specific plans to get him out."

After losing the ODI series 3-0, the Tigers were hungry to bounce back in the T20 series. Mahedi hopes this hunger for success will translate into a strong performance in the Champions Trophy.

"Our performance in the ODI series wasn’t up to the mark, but the boys were very hungry in the T20 series. I hope we can carry this hunger and perform well in the Champions Trophy," Mahedi concluded.
