Bangla Tigers Suffer Third Consecutive Defeat in Abu Dhabi T10 League

Shakib Al Hasan’s Bangla Tigers tasted their third consecutive defeat in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, losing to the UP Nawabs by 7 wickets on Saturday. Currently, with 5 losses and only 2 wins from 7 matches, the Bangla Tigers are placed 9th in the points table.

After losing the toss at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, the Bangla Tigers batted first. The opening pair put up a 44-run partnership before Hazratullah Zazai was dismissed for 24 runs. Tymal Mills delivered a double blow by removing Liam Livingstone and Dasun Shanaka for ducks.

Losing two in-form batters put the Bangla Tigers under pressure. However, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Shahzad steadied the innings. Their 42-run partnership off 24 balls helped the team post 87 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted overs.

Iftikhar scored 27 off 25 balls, while Shahzad remained unbeaten on 23. Captain Shakib Al Hasan came in to bat with just one ball remaining in the innings and could not score.

Chasing a target of 88, the UP Nawabs started their innings, with Shakib bowling the second over. He conceded 8 runs in his first over, including a boundary by Avishka Fernando.

Shakib returned to bowl the fourth over, where Fernando and Andre Fletcher played defensively. They managed only 4 singles, with Shakib conceding a total of 12 runs in his 2 overs without taking any wickets.

Avishka Fernando scored a quick 36 off 16 balls before being dismissed, but Fletcher and Najibullah Zadran guided the UP Nawabs to victory. They chased down the target with 12 balls to spare, losing just 3 wickets.
