Supta Earns T20 Squad Spot After Impressive ODI Comeback
After a dominant series win against Ireland in the ODIs, the Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team is set to face the Irish Women in a three-match T20I series. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the first two matches of the series.
The ODI series was held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, but the T20I matches will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Sharmin Akhter Supta, who made a stellar comeback in the ODIs, has been included in the T20 squad. Her performances left the selectors with no choice but to consider her for the shortest format.
The squad will be led by regular captain Nigar Sultana Joty, with Nahida Akter as the vice-captain. Three players—Disha Biswas, Shamima Sultana, and Sharmin Sultana—have been named as standbys.
