Lucknow beat Chennai by eight wickets

After two consecutive losses, the Lucknow Super Giants finally tasted victory against the Chennai Super Kings, winning by 8 wickets. Despite losing the toss and being sent in to bat first, Chennai set a target of 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In response, Lucknow secured the win with 6 balls remaining and 8 wickets in hand.

The chase seemed effortless for Lucknow, thanks largely to the opening partnership between Lokesh Rahul and Quinton de Kock. Together, they scored a substantial 153 runs. De Kock was dismissed for 53 runs off 43 balls, falling victim to Mustafizur Rahman's off-cutter, caught by MS Dhoni. Rahul, however, continued strongly and brought the team close to victory before being caught on a delivery from Matheesha Pathirana, ending his knock at 82 runs, which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.

The task of finishing the game was left to Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis. Pooran remained unbeaten at 23 runs from 12 balls, while Stoinis contributed 8 runs off 7 balls, ensuring the team's victory.

Earlier in the match, Chennai's Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad were dismissed early. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja played pivotal roles in boosting Chennai's score, with Jadeja remaining unbeaten and adding a significant contribution. Shivam Dube and Sameer Rizvi failed to make an impact with the bat, but Moeen Ali scored a quick 30 off 20 balls, and MS Dhoni's aggressive batting delighted the spectators.

Dhoni's innings featured 28 runs off just 9 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Jadeja's unbeaten 57 from 40 balls helped Chennai reach their final score of 176.
