Starting their second innings with a lead of 227 runs, India has declared at 287, setting Bangladesh a daunting target of 515 runs. Rohit Sharma's team capitalized on two centuries, with Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill both making significant contributions.
After 629 days away from Test cricket, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant made a triumphant return with a brilliant century. He scored 109 runs before departing, caught off a return catch from Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Following in Pant’s footsteps, Shubman Gill also notched up a century, bouncing back remarkably after a duck in the first innings.
At the end of 64 overs, with 4 wickets down, India decided to declare their innings. Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 119 runs, while Lokesh Rahul contributed 22 runs.
