Akbar Ali Punished for Unprofessional Behavior
Akbar Ali, the captain of the Bangladesh Under-19 World Cup-winning team, has been banned for the next two matches in the National Cricket League due to unprofessional conduct, including arguing with the umpire and engaging in inappropriate behavior.
The incident occurred during a National League match between Barisal Division and Rangpur at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. Akbar Ali expressed his dissatisfaction with an umpire's decision during the match. There was an argument with the umpire while fielding, and later, when he was given out during batting, he threw his bat in anger and also broke a chair in the dressing room.
The on-field umpires for the match were Mahfuzur Rahman and Sohrab Hossain, while Akhtar Ahmed served as the match referee. They reported the incident in the match report. As a result of violating Level 2 of the code of conduct, Akbar has been banned for two matches.
Additionally, Akbar has been fined 95% of his match fee and received 5 demerit points for the incident.
