Just one day after announcing his retirement from international cricket, Tamim Iqbal has been appointed as the president of the Chittagong division of the Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB). In the newly formed committee, Akram Khan and Minhajul Abedin Nannu have been appointed as the chief advisors, while Irfan Shukur has been named the general secretary.
As the president of the Chittagong CWAB, Tamim Iqbal will lead the committee, with a team of prominent individuals working alongside him. The committee includes two young cricketers, Parvez Hossain Emon and Shahadat Hossain Dipu, who will serve as the treasurers.
The advisory board of the committee will consist of Nafis Iqbal Khan, Aftab Ahmed, Nazim Uddin, Fazle Ahsan Khan, Abdul Ahad Ripon, Fazle Bari Khan, Nurul Abedin Nobel, Shahidur Rahman, Azam Iqbal, Mahabubul Karim, Rezaul Rajib, Masum Ullah, Arif Ahmed, Raihan Arafat, Rahad Hasan, and Mirajul Haque.
The vice-presidents of the committee are Abul Hasem Raja, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Naeem Hasan, Hassan, Sajjadul Haque Ripon, Imrul Karim, Moniruzzaman, Sadikur Rahman, Roni Chowdhury, Ifrahan Hossain, and Sabbir Hossain.
This development marks a significant transition for Tamim Iqbal as he shifts his focus from international cricket to playing an important role in supporting and promoting the welfare of cricketers in Bangladesh.
