Zimbabwe Ahead in the Belfast Test
At the end of the third day in the Belfast Test, Zimbabwe finds itself in a favorable position. Zimbabwe needs just 5 more wickets to secure victory against Ireland, while the hosts need 125 runs to win.
Starting their second innings 157 runs behind, Ireland struggled as they lost 5 wickets for just 33 runs. Opener Peter Moor was out for a duck at a team score of 6 runs, followed by Curtis Campher, who also departed without scoring, succumbing to a golden duck. Richard Ngarava had an opportunity for a hat-trick but couldn't complete it.
Ireland's captain, Andy Balbirnie, was dismissed for 4 runs by Blessing Muzarabani, leaving the team reeling at 6 runs for 3 wickets. Harry Tector also departed without scoring. The last wicket of the day was taken by Ngarava, who dismissed Paul Stirling for 10 runs. At stumps, Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine remained not out on 9 and 4 runs, respectively.
In Zimbabwe's second innings, Richard Ngarava took 4 wickets for 12 runs, while Muzarabani claimed 1 wicket.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe resumed their innings at 12 without loss but quickly lost a wicket. The partnership between Kyle Mayers and Sean Williams steadied the innings, adding 68 runs. Williams was dismissed for 40 runs.
Although Mayers continued to bat, he didn't receive much support from the other end. Mayers was out for 57 runs, and Zimbabwe's second innings concluded at 197 runs.
