Tamim Iqbal to be Transferred to Evercare Hospital After Heart Procedure

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal, who underwent heart surgery and had a ring inserted following a heart blockage, is set to be transferred from KPJ Specialized Hospital in Savar to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka today.

On Monday, during a Premier League match at the BKSP ground, Tamim suddenly fell ill while playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club. After his condition worsened, it was discovered that he had a blockage in his heart, and a ring was inserted. Due to the severity of his condition, he was initially treated at KPJ Specialized Hospital near BKSP.

Despite efforts to transport him via helicopter for better treatment, his condition did not allow for that, and he was instead kept under observation at the local hospital. However, as his condition continued to decline, plans were made to move him to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for further care. This afternoon, he will be transferred by ambulance.

It is worth noting that Tamim was in good health when he participated in the toss for the Mohammedan Sporting Club-Shainpukur match, but soon after returning to the dressing room, he suddenly became unwell. He was immediately taken to KPJ Specialized Hospital for primary treatment before briefly returning to the BKSP ground.

As his condition worsened, authorities made arrangements for a helicopter transfer to Dhaka, but due to complications, he was brought back to the hospital in Savar. After necessary tests and examinations, doctors found a blockage in his heart, and following their advice, an angiogram was performed, and a heart ring was inserted.

The cricket community is hoping for his swift recovery as he continues to receive treatment.
