Bangladesh is contemplating playing session by session, while Sri Lanka is considering thwarting that plan. Sri Lankans are hoping to take 2-3 wickets in the morning session. Kamindu Mendis expressed this sentiment during the press conference. Today, their batters also played an innings of 92 runs.
Bangladesh couldn't provide much difficulty for the Sri Lankan batters in Sylhet. The wicket in Chattogram for the second Test seems better than Sylhet. At least that's what Kamindu feels. Sri Lankan batters played a century partnership in both innings in Sylhet.
"In comparison to Sylhet, batting here in Chattogram was easier. We played the way we usually do. Occasionally, many found it easy to score runs. Here, there's actually no need for any specific strategy."
Sri Lanka hopes to take 2-3 wickets early on the third day in Bangladesh. "We have some fantastic bowlers. We have three pacers along with a spinner and two all-rounders. If we can take 2-3 wickets in the morning, it will be great for us. We'll try to achieve that in the first hour."
Chattogram's wicket will gradually favor spinners. Kamindu is thinking the same. Therefore, they believe it's crucial to have batting support on the wicket, and they have been practicing accordingly.
"The pitch here seems better for batting compared to the previous match. But I think support for spinners will increase gradually. So, I feel I've batted well today here."
