South Africa Announces Test Squad Against Pakistan with Surprises
South Africa has announced their squad for the two-match Test series against Pakistan, led by Temba Bavuma, with a few surprises in the mix. Keshav Maharaj makes a return to the side after recovering from injury, while Senuran Muthusamy, who recently earned a spot in the ODI squad, has also been included. Additionally, Wiaan Mulder is back in the squad after an injury layoff, and uncapped players Corbin Bosch and Kwena Maphaka are set to debut.
Keshav Maharaj, who sustained an injury before the ongoing ODI series, has been deemed fit for the Test squad. Meanwhile, there are still concerns over Wiaan Mulder's recovery, and if he is unavailable, Matthew Breetzke might replace him.
The inclusion of two uncapped pacers, Corbin Bosch and Kwena Maphaka, adds excitement to the squad. Bosch earned his place after a stellar performance against the England Lions, while Maphaka has been selected as a replacement for Gerald Coetzee.
The Test series is crucial for South Africa, as one victory would secure their spot in the World Test Championship final. The two matches will take place on December 26 and January 3, respectively.
