In the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Agrani Bank Cricket Club secured a 7-wicket victory over Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club, thanks to a brilliant century by Shadman Islam. Chasing a target of 260 set by Rupganj, Agrani Bank reached the target with 31 balls to spare.
On Sunday, at the BKSP ground, Rupganj, after losing the toss, opted to bat first and was bowled out for 260 runs. Amit Hasan was the top scorer for Rupganj with an innings of 81 runs off 109 balls. Asadullah Al Galib contributed 57, Ariful Haque scored 40, and captain Al Amin Junior made 32.
For Agrani Bank, Ruhel Mia and Taibur Rahman each claimed three wickets.
In the run chase, Agrani Bank lost Imranuzzaman for 28 runs, but Sadman Islam and Imrul Kayes built a solid partnership of 86 runs. Imrul Kayes, who scored 62 runs off 58 balls, was dismissed by Mahmudul Hasan.
Sadman Islam, playing an excellent knock, remained unbeaten on 115 runs off 111 balls, hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes. Agrani Bank chased down the target in just 34.5 overs, losing only 3 wickets. Marshall Ayub also remained not out on 34 runs. Mahmudul Hasan took two wickets for Rupganj.
