Scotland have announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming three-game T20I series against Australia, set to take place from September 4-7.
Richie Berrington will captain the squad, which includes a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers.
The series will be a significant opportunity for Scotland to test their skills against one of the top teams in international cricket. Australia’s visit marks a high-profile series for Scotland, who are looking to showcase their talents on home soil.
The two sides last met during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where Scotland fought hard but ultimately fell short against Australia, losing by five wickets in their final group match.
Among the notable names in the squad is young pacer Charlie Cassell.
Cassell, who made headlines with a record-breaking ODI debut last month, has been included in the squad after picking up 7/21 against Oman—a record for the best figures by a debutant in ODI cricket history. Cassell was also a nominee for ICC Men's Player of the Month for July 2024.
Squad: Richie Berrington (C), Charlie Cassell, Matthew Cross, Bradley Currie, Jasper Davidson, Chris Greaves, Oli Hairs, Jack Jarvis, Michael Jones, Michael Leask, Brandon McMullen, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Charlie Tear, Mark Watt, Bradley Wheal
