At Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, spectators and players witnessed a peculiar incident during the second ODI.

Salman Ali Aga was dismissed in a run-out that later became the center of widespread discussion and debate.

In the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings, Aga and Bangladesh captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz both ran towards the non-striker’s end to take the ball.

Aga tried to return the ball to the Bangladesh captain, but as Miraz was outside the crease, he directly threw the ball at the stumps.

The third umpire, Kumar Dharmasena, declared Aga out.

After being dismissed, the right-handed batter expressed his frustration.

He raised his hands in a strong reaction and even threw his helmet.

As tensions rose, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan stepped in to calm the situation.

Several fielders from the Bangladesh team also gathered around at that moment.

Reflecting on the incident, Aga told the media,

“I think everyone saw what happened. This completely came out of the heat of the moment.

If you ask me what I would have done, I would say I might have handled it differently.

But what happened afterwards was all the result of that moment’s intensity.”

Aga acknowledged that Miraz acted within the rules.

He said,

“From a rules perspective, it was completely legitimate, and I myself always respect the rules.

But when we talk about sportsmanship, the situation should be handled with that in mind, no matter what.”

He added,

“What he did according to the rules was correct.

If he thinks it was right, then it is right.

But from my perspective, I would have handled it differently.

I would have prioritized sportsmanship.”
