The incident took place in the 39th over of the innings. At that time, Pakistan’s two set batters Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha were at the crease. On the fourth delivery of the over bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rizwan played a straight shot. Miraz attempted to stop the ball with his foot.
However, as the ball was not fully under control, Salman at the non-striker’s end moved forward to grab it. At that moment, he was outside the popping crease. Miraz also reached for the ball at the same time. Eventually, Miraz collected it first and broke the stumps with an underarm throw before immediately appealing for a run-out.
Even before the third umpire’s decision, Salman was seen expressing his frustration towards Miraz. Though he was aware that, according to the rules, he was likely to be given out in that situation. Later, TV umpire Kumar Dharmasena confirmed the run-out after watching the replay.
The run-out decision triggered a dramatic reaction from Pakistan batter Salman Agha. After being dismissed, he threw his helmet and gloves in anger and also got involved in a verbal exchange with Bangladesh wicketkeeper Liton Das.
While walking back to the dressing room, the Pakistan batter continued to show his frustration. He was seen making gestures towards the Bangladesh players. At one point, Liton Das also appeared upset, prompting Rizwan to step in and calm the situation.
The tension briefly spread among players of both teams on the field. Miraz also looked fired up, but captain Najmul Hossain later guided him back towards the bowling end in an effort to defuse the situation.
