Ryan Rafsan's All-Round Performance Fails to Secure Win for Shinepukur in DPL
Despite taking two wickets with the ball and scoring a century with the bat, Ryan Rafsan Rahman couldn't lead his team, Shinepukur Cricket Club, to victory in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match. Shinepukur lost by 46 runs to Agrani Bank Cricket Club. In reply to Agrani Bank's total of 294 runs, Shinepukur ended their innings at 248 runs after completing the allotted overs.
After winning the toss, Agrani Bank opted to bat first and their openers, Imranuzzaman and Sadman Islam, gave the team a solid start. Imranuzzaman was dismissed for 32 runs, and after scoring 53, Sadman Islam fell to a delivery by Ryan Rafsan. Captain Imrul Kayes and Amit Hasan then added 83 runs for the third wicket.
Amit Hasan scored 41 runs, while Imrul Kayes made 86 runs off 85 balls before being dismissed by Rafsan. Agrani Bank finished their innings at 294 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs. Shinepukur's Ryan Rafsan Rahman and Ali Mohammad Walid each took two wickets.
Chasing 295 runs for victory, Shinepukur's openers, Niyon Zaman and Monirul Islam Tanmay, were dismissed for 20 and 34 runs, respectively. After the fall of five wickets for 103 runs, Ryan Rafsan Rahman and Minhajul Abedin fought hard to keep their team in the game. Ryan remained unbeaten on 106 runs off 130 balls, while Minhajul scored 51 runs off 61 balls. However, their slow-paced innings couldn't help Shinepukur reach the target, as they finished with 248 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs.
For Agrani Bank, Arif Ahmed and Naeem Hasan took two wickets each. Imrul Kayes was named the player of the match.
