Rony took 7, Gazi Tyres all out for just 40

On December 27, 2002, in the National Cricket League One-Day match, Chittagong Division was all out for just 30 runs against Sylhet Division. The team comprising Nafis Iqbal, Nazimuddin, Aftab Ahmed, and Alok Kapali had set the record for the lowest team total in List A cricket on Bangladeshi soil.

That record came under threat today. Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy fell for just 23 runs against Mohammedan Sporting Club, losing 8 wickets. However, they managed to add 17 runs for the last two wickets, thus avoiding the ignominy of breaking the record.

Nevertheless, Gazi Tyres now hold the third-lowest team score in List A cricket on Bangladeshi soil. Cricket Coaching Sports Club is in second place, having been dismissed for 35 runs against Abahani Limited in 2013.

To dismiss Gazi Tyres for 40 runs, Abu Hider Rony took 7 wickets for 20 runs in 6 overs. This stands as the third-best bowling figure in List A cricket on Bangladeshi soil. In 2017, Yasin Arafat Mishu had taken 8 wickets for 40 runs against Abahani in Fatullah. In 2003, Abdur Razzak took 7 wickets for 17 runs against Zimbabwe A.

With Rony's 7 wickets, Nasum Ahmed took 3 wickets for 20 runs.

Mohammedan reached the target of 41 runs losing just 1 wicket in 6.2 overs. Imrul Kayes remained unbeaten on 19 runs off 21 balls. Rony Talukdar got out scoring 12 runs off 12 balls. Mahidul Islam Ankon remained unbeaten on 5 runs.
